Frequent Tips
Starting this Thuesday, November 10,2020. The Cayo Blanco vessel will be operating.
There is an ordinance that the municipality doesn’t allow non residents to board on the ferry.
For now buying ferry tickets online is very difficult but at least you could track the itineraries on www.porferry.com or you could put on you GPS Ceiba Ferry Terminal, that will address to the Old Navy Base Roosevelt Roads, also next to the main gate you will find the Ceiba International Airport (RVR) which is less than a mile away.
On weekend sometimes, we only have 2 trips on the ferries (COVID TIMES)
Ceiba to Vieques:
4 AM, 9 AM, 9:30 AM, 1 PM, 1:30 PM, 4:30 PM, 9:30 PM* (Not recommended).
Vieques to Ceiba:
5:30 AM, 6:30 AM, 11 AM, 11:30 AM, 3 PM, 3:30 PM, and 10:45 PM.
All these trip are subject to the weather conditions, US Coast Gard, Protests, Maintenance.
Reservations are available from Monday thru Friday from 7:30 am to 5:00 pm.
To make a reservations (if you are not a resident) Which is not a good idea, even if you own the car is impossible to do it, if you are willing to be “stand by” , it could take a few days trying and not knowing when the cargo ferry administration will allow you to bring it over, let us know how it goes… but you will need the car and driver registration but the priority always will be the residents of Vieques which always have issues trying to go over the main island and come back because many times the administration don’t want to pre-sale the round trip tickets since the capacity is super limited. We don’t suggest to bring a rented car from the Main Island but if you want to bring it make sure you have secure Round Trip, if not be willing to rent a car and leave it on the Ceiba parking lot could cost you around $ 7.00-8.00 per day plus tax which is 11.5%
From Ceiba (RVR) To Vieques (VQS) is around $40.00 pp one (1) way.
Our airport is Antonio Rivera Rodriguez, Antonio used to be the mayor of Vieques for 24 years.
There is plenty of lightweight planes. The commercial airlines usually are fully book (in high season- Nov. to Feb.) and if you are trying to go to Culebra Island, your best bet will be from Vieques with Vieques Air Link as a commercial airline, as for charters for a maximum of 3 people try with Taxi Aereo is around $180.00 the cost of the total flight for one way.
If you are looking into a luxury experience charter services, check on, Air America Caribbean, M&N Aviation, Air Sunshine, Taxi Aereo, Air Flamenco, Air Margarita.
The most commercial one is Cape Air from the San Juan International Airport (SJU)
In San Juan we have another regional airport Fernando Luis Ribas Dominicci (SIG), Vieques Air link also flights from there.

They are three kind of this tours around Puerto Rico but the one that glows the most is Mosquito Bay, in Vieques. Make sure you don’t wear a “no deet” bug repellent and no chemicals, like deodorant, conditioner, etc. Also make sure you go in flip flops – watershoes and waterproof/dry-bag for your personal items, wear underneath a swimsuit or clothes that you don’t mind to get wet.
Make sure you are on time for the meeting time and if you don’t have a car and you are at the last tour of the night make sure you book a taxi before you go in the tour also eating before the tour is highly recommended since you might be on the last tour might be restaurants will be close or limited menu.
